Hérens Cows The Hérens breed of cows has a lively and belligerent temperament. Each spring, as the cattle are moved up to the alpine pastures, they lock horns together in fierce combat. The cows are not trained; these confrontations are natural. The “Reine”, the strongest of all, will walk at the head of the herd throughout the summer. Experience this unique event at the beginning of summer and set off in search of ideal family locations, where a warm welcome and tradition are still very much present.
